Decio Andrade of Camacha, Portugal, a freshman on the Angelo State University men's track and field team, set new ASU and Lone Star Conference records in the hammer throw at the Wes Kittley Invitational Meet on March 16 in Abilene. Andrade's hammer throw of 226 feet, 5 inches broke the previous ASU record of 213-9 set by Lennart Bodell in 1984 - and the previous LSC record of 218-0 set by Baptiste Kerjean of Abilene Christian University in 2013.

Angelo State athletes delivered strong performances at the Boo Rogers Multis at Pittsburg State in Kansas. Dragan Pesic won first in the men's heptathlon, and Harry Maslen and Trpimir Siroki, finished second and third. As well, Pesic tied for first in the shot put and won the 1000 meter run. Siroki won in the high jump. Karlea Duhon, completed the women's indoor pentathlon with a score of 3364 points.
