ASU Rams Earn NCBWA Baseball Preseason All-Region Honors

Three players on the Angelo State University Rams baseball team have been named to the Preseason All-South Central Region Team ahead of the 2025 season. Relief pitcher Caleb Heuertz of San Angelo leads the way for the Rams as a unanimous selection. The senior management major was 2-2 last season with a 2.29 ERA and seven saves in 25 appearances. Over 51 innings, he posted 69 strikeouts and held opponents to a .190 batting average. He has also been named a D2 Baseball Preseason All-American. Outfielder Jacob Guerrero of Colleyville picks up yet another preseason honor after being named the Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year and a D2 Baseball Preseason All-American. The accounting graduate student batted .368 last season with 11 home runs, 25 doubles and 76 RBI while leading the LSC with 30 stolen bases. Starting pitcher Dax Dathe of Round Rock picks up his first preseason accolade. The graduate student in coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration went 9-4 last season with a 4.85 ERA in 18 appearances. His 110 strikeouts was third in all of NCAA Division II as he earned mutliple all-region honors. The Rams open the 2025 season with a four-game series against UT Permian Basin starting Friday, Jan. 31. ASU Rams Named Baseball Preseason All-Americans

Angelo State University Rams baseball players Caleb Heuertz of San Angelo and Jacob Guerrero of Colleyville have been named Preseason All-Americans by D2 Baseball heading into the 2025 season. Heuertz, a senior right-handed pitcher, earned first-team honors after posting a 2-2 record with a 2.29 ERA and seven saves as the Ram's best relief pitcher last season. In 25 appearances, he pitched 51 innings and posted 69 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .190 batting average. Following the season, he was named a D2 Baseball All-American. He is majoring in management. Guerrero, a graduate student outfielder, was named to the second team in the same week he has been named the Lone Star Conference Preseason Player of the Year. He batted .368 last season with 11 home runs, 25 doubles and 76 RBI, and he led the LSC with 30 stolen bases. He was named to the All-LSC first team and earned All-South Central Region honors. An accounting major, he was also named to the LSC All-Academic Team. Both Heuertz and Guerrero played key roles in the Rams' 2023 NCAA Division II national championship and last year's national runner-up finish. ASU's Trotter Named to LSC Softball Preseason Watch List

Tatiana Trotter of Lubbock, an outfielder on the Angelo State University Rambelles softball team, has been named to the Lone Star Conference Preseason Players to Watch List heading into the 2025 season. In her breakout sophomore season in 2024, Trotter started all 55 games and led the team in batting average (.353), hits (53), doubles (9), triples (9) and RBI (43), and she was second in home runs (7) and stolen bases (14). Her nine triples also set a new ASU single-season record. She was named to the All-LSC second team and NFCA All-South Central Region second team. A junior intelligence and analysis major, Trotter was also named CSC Academic All-District and an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete, and she earned a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. Trotter and the Rambelles start their 2025 season on the road at the D-II First Pitch Invitational in Conroe, Texas, with five games starting on Friday, Jan. 31. ASU's Floyd Named LSC Softball Preseason Pitcher of the Year

Cheyenne Floyd of Liberty Hill, a pitcher on the Angelo State University Rambelles softball team, has been named the Lone Star Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year heading into the 2025 season. The reigning LSC Pitcher of the Year and D2CCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year, Floyd went 20-10 last season with a 1.89 ERA. In 163 innings, she posted 167 strikeouts and gave up only 44 earned runs, holding opposing hitters to a .207 batting average. She was named to the NFCA All-America second team after leading the Rambelles to a third-place finish in the LSC and a trip to the NCAA Division II South Central Regional. A graduate student in coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration, Floyd was also named to the LSC All-Academic Team and a NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. She also earned a D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award. Floyd and Belles start the 2025 season on the road at the D-II First Pitch Invitational in Conroe, Texas, with five games starting on Friday, Jan. 31. Caleb Heuertz of San Angelo, an All-American pitcher on the Angelo State University Rams baseball team, has been named a Lone Star Conference Preseason Pitcher to Watch ahead of the 2025 season. A senior management major, Heuertz was the Rams' top relief pitcher last season. In 25 appearances, he posted a 2-2 record with a 2.29 ERA and team-high seven saves. In 51 innings pitched, he notched 69 strikeouts and gave up only 13 earned runs. He was named to the All-LSC first team, earned multiple all-region honors, and was named a D2 Baseball All-American. Heuertz also played a key role in the Rams' 2023 NCAA Division II national championship, and he picked up a win at the 2024 NCAA D-II National Tournament as the Rams finished as national runners-up. ASU's Guerrero Named LSC Baseball Preseason Player of the Year

Jacob Guerrero of Colleyville, an outfielder on the Angelo State University Rams baseball team, has been named the Lone Star Conference 2025 Preseason Player of the Year. It's the second straight year he has earned the preseason honor. A graduate student in accounting, Guerrero posted a .368 batting average last season with 11 home runs, 76 RBI and 79 runs scored. He led the LSC with 30 stolen bases and ranked in the top five in hits (95), doubles (25), runs scored and RBI. He was named to the All-LSC first team and LSC All-Academic Team while also picking up ABCA, D2CCA and NCBWA All-South Central Region honors. An All-American in 2023 when he helped lead the Rams to the NCAA Division II national championship, Guerrero was the only player to start all 65 games for the Rams last season as they finished as national runners-up. ASU's Ortman Earns Volleyball Academic All-America Honors

Adeline Ortman of Rhome, a graduate student setter on the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team, has been named to the 2024 Academic All-America First Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization. Previously named the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year, Ortman is the only LSC student-athlete selected to the CSC Academic All-America teams. She is currently studying for her Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. On the court, Ortman was named the LSC Setter of the Year and to the All-LSC first team after leading the conference in assists. She also earned All-South Central Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) - and was named to the AVCA All-America first team. With Ortman leading the offense, the Belles won the LSC Tournament and South Central Regional, advancing to the national semifinals for the first team in team history. ASU Rams Named to Dave Campbell's All-Texas Football Team

Five Angelo State University Rams football players have been named to the 2024 Dave Campbell's Texas Football All-Texas Non-FBS Team. Leading the way for ASU is senior defensive back Andrew Pitts of McKinney, who was named Best Defensive Back. The kinesiology major was previously named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Back of the Year, earned D2CCA All-Super Region 4 honors, and was named an AP All-American. Named to the All-Texas Team on offense from the Rams are junior quarterback Braeden Fuller of Floresville and junior offensive lineman Noah Plsek of West. Fuller, a kinesiology major, previously earned the J.W. Rollins Award as the LSC Offensive Player of the Year, and Plsek, a history major, was named to the All-LSC first team. Both also earned D2CCA All-Super Region 4 honors. On special teams, the Rams are represented by senior punter Cade Fuller of Floresville and senior long snapper Connor McDowell of La Vernia. Fuller, a sociology major, was named the All-LSC first-team punter, while McDowell, a management major, was named to the All-LSC first team as a defensive specialist. Fuller also earned D2CCA All-Super Region 4 honors. The Rams won their second LSC title in the last three years this season and qualified for the NCAA Division II Football Playoffs. Angelo State University Announces Fall 2024 Dean's List

Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, has announced the students achieving the Dean's List for the 2024 fall semester. To be eligible for the ASU Dean's List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Four ASU Volleyball Players Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Four members from the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team - Caleigh Enax of Haslet, Adeline Ortman of Rhome, Madi Parrish of Saginaw, and Evelyn Torres of Fort Worth - have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024 Academic All-District Team. This is Enax and Ortman's third time being named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, the second time for Torres and the first for Parrish. Enax, a senior exercise science major, previously earned All-America honorable mention by the AVCA and was the Lone Star Conference Libero of the Year. She finishes her Angelo State career with 1,633 career digs, which ranks third in team history. Her 658 digs are the second-most in a single season in team history, and she capped off her career with a personal-best 39 digs in the Belles' semifinal match against San Francisco State. Ortman, a graduate student, is pursuing her MBA after earning an undergraduate degree in management. Ortman, the LSC Academic Player of the Year, has a 4.0 GPA throughout her collegiate career. She averaged 11.53 assists per set as she helped the Belles attack hit .244 on the season. She was also named a first-team All-American by the AVCA, the first Belle to do so since Kailyn Gilbreath in 2021. She finishes her career with 2,978 career assists and 109 service aces. Parrish is a sophomore business major. The LSC Tournament MVP recorded 498 kills and 551 points on the season, both of which are the fift- most in a single season in ASU history. Her attack percentage rose 46 points from her freshman season as she was named a second-team All-American by the AVCA. She has 746 career kills and 517 career digs in her first two collegiate seasons. Torres, a graduate student, is pursuing her master's degree in global security studies after receiving her undergraduate degree in criminal justice. The lone Belle to be named to the NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team, Torres had 465 kills and 517 points this season. The AVCA third-team All-American hit .235 on the season and was second in digs with 355. She wraps up her career with 1,243 career kills and 816 career digs. To qualify for the Academic All-District teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and have a 3.50 cumulative GPA. They must have also played in 90%of the school's matches or started in 66%. All four will move onto the Academic All-America ballot, and the Academic All-America teams will be announced on Jan. 14. ASU's Pitts & Rascoe Named AP Football All-Americans

Angelo State University Rams football players Andrew Pitts of McKinney and Eric Rascoe of San Antonio have been named to the 2024 Associated Press NCAA Division II All-America teams. Pitts, a senior cornerback, was named to the All-America Defense first team. The kinesiology major snagged six interceptions this season as he set a new Rams career record, and he posted 43 tackles. He was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Back of the Year and also earned D2CCA All-America honors. Rascoe, a senior linebacker, was named to the All-America Defense second team. The business major was previously named the LSC Co-Linebacker of the Year after posting 55 tackles with four sacks, three interceptions and 6.5 tackles for loss. ASU's Clark & Heise Named USC Soccer All-Americans

Two players on the Angelo State University Rambelles soccer team, Christina Clark of Trophy Club and Katelin Heise of Lubbock, have earned 2024 NCAA Division II All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches Association (USC). Both were named to the USC All-America third team. Sophomore defender Clark, a management information systems major, earns her first All-America designation after previously being named to the USC All-South Central Region first team, to the All-Lone Star Conference first team and LSC Defender of the Year. She led the Belles defense that ranked fifth in the nation in shutout percentage (.667) while also chipping in four goals. Graduate student midfielder Heise, who is studying coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration, also earns her first All-America nod after previously being named to the All-South Central Region and All-LSC first teams. She was the team captain for her final season and posted three goals and two assists. Her 88 games started ranks first in team history, and she also ranks second in games played (91) and minutes played (6,769). Angelo State's Heise Named USC Soccer Scholar All-American

Katelin Heise of Lubbock, a midfielder on the Angelo State University Rambelles soccer team, has been named to the 2024 NCAA Division II Academic All-America Team by the United Soccer Coaches (USC) organization. It's her second USC Scholar All-American honor. A graduate student in coaching, sport, fitness and recreation administration, Heise was the team captain in her final year of eligibility. She helped lead the Belles to the Lone Star Conference regular-season and LSC Tournament titles as they advanced to the NCAA D-II Elite Eight for the first time in team history. Along the way, Heise was named to the All-LSC first team, All-South Central Region first team and USC All-America third team. Angelo State Belles Earn USC Soccer All-Region Honors

Five players on the Angelo State University Rambelles soccer team have been named to the 2024 NCAA Division II All-South Central Region teams by the United Soccer Coaches organization. Sophomore defender Christina Clark of Trophy Club, graduate student midfielder Katelin Heise of Lubbock and senior goalkeeper Amber Lockwood of San Antonio were named to the all-region first team. Junior defender Harper Saxon of Bluff Dale and sophomore forward Sanai Stewart of Cibolo were named to the all-region second team. Clark, a management information systems major, was previously named the Lone Star Conference Defender of the Year, and Lockwood, a commercial aviation major, was named the LSC Goalkeeper of the Year. Heise, an exercise science major, Saxon an exercise science major, and Stewart, a communication major, each earned All-LSC honors. Angelo State Belles Named AVCA Volleyball All-Americans

Five players on the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team have earned 2024 All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Highlighting the awards is middle blocker Demi Carter of Bridge City being named the AVCA National Freshman of the Year. The marketing major also earned All-America honorable mention after previously being named to the Lone Star Conference All-Freshman Team and earning All-South Central Region honors. Graduate MBA student Adeline Ortman of Rhome was named to the All-America first team. She was previously named the LSC Setter of the Year and LSC Academic Player of the Year, and she also earned all-region honors. Sophomore outside hitter Madi Parrish of Saginaw, a business major, was named to the All-America second team. She previously earned All-LSC and all-region honors and was the MVP of the LSC Tournament. Outside hitter Evelyn Torres of Fort Worth, a graduate student in security studies, was named to the All-America third team. She previously earned All-LSC and all-region honors. Senior exercise science major Caleigh Enax of Haslet earned All-America honorable mention. She was previously named the LSC Libero of the Year and earned all-region honors. ASU's Burdin & Frush Earn LSC Track & Field Weekly Honors

Angelo State University track and field student-athletes Mark Burdin of Kazan, Russia, and Kylie Frush of Glen Rose have been named the Lone Star Conference Men's and Women's Field Athletes of the Week for Week 1 of the indoor season ending Dec. 10. Burdin, a sophomore management major, scored 5,177 points to finish fourth in the heptathlon at the Boo Rogers Combined Events in Pittsburg, Kan. His total earned an NCAA Division II provisional mark and slotted him third in the country. He was the top finisher in shot put (14.78m, 48-6) and came in fourth in high jump (1.94m, 6-4.5). Frush, a junior nursing major, scored 3,464 points to finish fourth overall in the pentathlon at the Boo Rogers Combined Events in Pittsburg, Kan. Her total was an NCAA Division II Provisional mark and ranks 12th in the entire country. She was the top long jumper in the field (5.58m, 18-3.75) and runner-up in the 800-meter run (2:23.63). ASU Announces Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Fall 2024 Inductees

Angelo State University's chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) national honor society recently inducted its fall 2024 class of 62 new student members during a special initiation ceremony in the Houston Harte University Center. PKP is the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for students in all academic disciplines. Invitations to join PKP are extended to juniors in the top 7.5% of their class, and to seniors and graduate students in the top 10% of their class. PKP is considered one of the nation's most prestigious academic honorary societies along with Phi Beta Kappa, which recognizes majors in the arts and sciences, and Sigma Xi, which honors majors in the sciences. Angelo State Rams Earn D2CCA Football All-Region Honors

Nine players from the Angelo State University Rams football team have been named to the 2024 NCAA Division II All-South Central Region teams by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Quarterback Braeden Fuller of Floresville, a junior kinesiology major, and offensive lineman Noah Plsek of West, a senior history major, were named to the all-region first-team offense. Cornerback Andrew Pitts of McKinney, a senior kinesiology major; linebacker Eric Rascoe of San Antonio, a senior business major; and defensive lineman Owen Seaver of Lampasas, a junior finance major, were named to the all-region first-team defense. Offensive lineman Jacob Long of Waco, a senior interdisciplinary studies major, made the all-region second-team offense. Linebacker Kenton Allen of Riverside, Calif., a senior computer science major; punter Cade Fuller of Floresville, a senior sociology major; and safety Jordan McKinney of Waco, a senior public health major, were named to the all-region second-team defense. All nine of the Rams honorees were previously named to the All-Lone Star Conference first teams after ASU claimed the LSC title and advanced to the NCAA D-II Football Championship playoffs. Angelo State's Fuller Named Harlon Hill Trophy Finalist

Braeden Fuller of Floresville, the quarterback for the Angelo State University Rams football team, has been named one of eight finalists for the 2024 Harlon Hill Trophy, which goes to the NCAA Division II Football Player of the Year. The finalists were chosen from 43 nominees and announced today by the Little Rock Touchdown Club in conjunction with the Great American Conference (GAC). The winner will be announced Dec. 20. A junior kinesiology major, Fuller led the Rams to a 9-3 overall record and a 9-0 mark in the Lone Star Conference as they claimed the LSC title and advanced to the NCAA D-II Football Championships. He led the LSC with 2,318 passing yards and 19 touchdowns with only two interceptions. He also added 678 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. He won the J.W. Rollins Award as the LSC Offensive Player of the Year and was named to the All-LSC first team. The Harlon Hill Trophy is named for the late Harlon Hill, the former University of North Alabama standout who excelled with the Lions from 1950-53 before going on to fame in the National Football League with the Chicago Bears. ASU Athletes Named to LSC Indoor Track & Field Preseason Watch List

Four athletes on the Angelo State University Rams and Rambelles indoor track and field teams have been named to the Lone Star Conference Preseason Athletes to Watch lists as they prepare to start the 2024-25 season this weekend. For the Rams, multi-events athlete Mark Burdin of Kazan, Russia, and sprinter Tristan Guerrero of Coahoma were tabbed LSC Men's Preseason Athletes to Watch. Burdin, a sophomore business major, was an indoor All-American in the heptathlon last season. Guerrero, a sophomore exercise science major, was a LSC champion and an indoor All-American in the 4x400 relay last season. For the Rambelles, sprinter Jacent Nyamahunge of Hoima, Uganda, and multi-event athlete Kylyie Paden of Portales, N.M., were tabbed LSC Women's Preseason Athletes to Watch. Nyamahunge, a graduate student in coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration, was an indoor All-American in the 4x400 relay last season. Paden, a junior nursing major, was named to the indoor All-LSC first team after finishing in the top five in the high jump, 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash last season. The ASU teams begin their indoor season today and Saturday at the Boo Rodgers Combined Events meet in Pittsburg, Kansas. Their next event will be Jan. 17 at the University of Oklahoma. ASU Belles Volleyball Players Named AVCA All-Region

Five players on the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team have earned 2024 All-South Central Region honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Highlighting the honors is freshman middle blocker Demi Carter of Bridge City being named the South Central Region Freshman of the Year. The marketing major was previously named to the Lone Star Conference All-Freshman Team and earned All-LSC honorable mention. Also named to the all-region first team for ASU are libero Caleigh Enax of Haslet, setter Adeline Ortman of Rhome, outside hitter Madi Parrish of Saginaw, and outside hitter Evelyn Torres of Fort Worth. Enax, a senior exercise science major, was previously named the LSC Libero of the Year and to the All-LSC first team. Ortman, a graduate MBA student, was previously named the LSC Setter of the Year and LSC Women's Volleyball Academic Player of the Year. Parrish, a sophomore business major, and Torres, a graduate student in global security studies, were both previously named to the All-LSC first team. Additionally, Belles head coach Chuck Waddington has been named the AVCA South Central Region Coach of the Year. Enax, Ortman, Parrish and Torres also earned All-South Central Region honors from the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). The Belles finished second during the LSC regular season and then won the LSC Tournament. They will host the NCAA D-II South Central Regional this weekend. ASU Rambelles Earn D2CCA Volleyball All-Region Honors

Four players from the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team have been named to the 2024 All-South Central Region teams by the NCAA Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Defensive specialist Caleigh Enax of Haslet, a senior exercise science major, was named to the all-region first team. She was also named the Lone Star Conference Libero of the Year and to the All-LSC first team. Setter Adeline Ortman of Rhome, a graduate MBA student, was named to the all-region second team. She was also named the LSC Setter of the Year and LSC Women's Volleyball Academic Player of the Year. Ortman is joined on the all-region second team by outside hitter Madi Parrish of Saginaw, a sophomore business major, and outside hitter Evelyn Torres of Fort Worth, a graduate student in global security studies. Both were also previously named to the All-LSC first team. The Belles finished second during the LSC regular season and then won the LSC Tournament. Angelo State Announces Alpha Chi Honor Society Inductees for Fall 2024

Angelo State University's chapter of the Alpha Chi national collegiate honor society recently inducted 32 new members for the fall 2024 semester during a ceremony in the Houston Harte University Center. Alpha Chi is one of the nation's most prestigious honor societies that is open to undergraduate students majoring in all academic disciplines. To be eligible, students must rank in the top 10% of seniors at their college or university, or in the top 7.5% of juniors. ASU Rambelles Soccer Players Earn D2CCA All-Region Honors

Four players from the Angelo State University Rambelles soccer team have been selected for the 2024 All-South Central Region Teams by the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA). Senior goalkeeper Amber Lockwood of San Antonio and junior defender Harper Saxon of Bluff Dale were named to the all-region first team. Graduate student midfielder Katelin Heise of Lubbock and sophomore forward Sanai Stewart of Cibolo were named to the all-region second team. Lockwood, a commercial aviation major, has posted 12 shutouts to tie the program record and has conceded just eight goals this season. She was also named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. Saxon, an exercise science major, helped lead the Belles defense that has allowed nine total goals this season, which ranks third in NCAA Division II. She was also named to the All-LSC first team. Heise, who is studying coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration, earns her second all-region honor. The team captain, she has marshalled the midfield while also chipping in two goals and three assists. She was also named to the All-LSC first team. Stewart, a communication major, has played a part in eight of the last 11 goals scored by the Belles and leads the team in goals (6) and assists (4). She was also named to the All-LSC first team. The D2CCA all-region teams are selected by each region's sports information directors. All four Belles are now eligible for the D2CCA All-America Teams that will be announced in December. The LSC champion Belles have advanced to the third round of the NCAA D-II Women's Soccer Championship. They will be back in action against Colorado School of Mines on Dec. 1 in Golden, Colo. ASU's Larson & McKinney Earn LSC Football All-Academic Honors

Angelo State University Rams football players Bradley Larson and Jordan McKinney have both been named to the 2024 Lone Star Conference Football All-Academic Team for their performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team ballot, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average and have reached sophomore athletic elibigility. Larson, a senior kicker from Prosper, is a management major. He was also named to the All-LSC first team after putting up 72 points this season with 10 field goals and 42 extra points. He did not miss an extra point all season. McKinney, a senior defensive back from Waco, is majoring in health science professions. He was also named to the All-LSC first team after finishing second on the Rams in tackles (67) and posting six tackles for loss and one interception. The No. 10 Rams went 9-2 overall and 9-0 in LSC play on their way to the LSC championship. They will host Bemidji State in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs on Saturday, Nov. 23. Angelo State Rams Earn Football All-Conference Honors

Twenty-three players from the Angelo State University Rams football team have earned 2024 Lone Star Conference postseason honors after the Rams went undefeated during the conference season and won the LSC championship. Highlighting the ASU honors are junior quarterback Braeden Fuller of Floresville winning the J.W. Rollins Award as the LSC Offensive Player of the Year, senior defensive end Owen Seaver of Lampasas being named LSC Defensive Lineman of the Year, senior corner back Andrew Pitts of McKinney being named LSC Defensive Back of the Year, and senior linebacker Eric Rascoe of San Antonio being named LSC co-Linebacker of the Year. All four were also named to the All-LSC first team, along with 10 teammates: Junior offensive lineman Noah Plsek of West Grad student offensive lineman Jacob Long of Waco Junior offensive lineman Connor Fisher of Willis Senior kicker Bradley Larson of Prosper Senior linebacker Kenton Allen of Riverside, Calif. Senior safety Jordan McKinney of Waco Senior defensive back Stephen Woods of Richmond Senior punter Cade Fuller of Floresville Senior defensive specialist Connor McDowell of Los Angeles, Calif. Senior all-purpose player Zorhan Rideaux of Houston Rideaux also made the All-LSC second team as a wide receiver. Also earning second-team honors for the Rams are: Senior defensive end Dylan Neeley of San Mateo, Calif. ASU's Ortman Named LSC Volleyball Academic Player of the Year

Angelo State University graduate student Adeline Ortman of Rhome has been named the 2024 Lone Star Conference Volleyball Academic Player of the Year for her performances on the court and in the classroom. Currently studying for her MBA, Ortman carries a 4.0 grade point average for her entire undergraduate and graduate careers, and has already earned her B.S. in management. This is her third straight season to also make the LSC All-Academic Team, she has twice been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, and she has made the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll every semester at ASU. A setter on the court, Ortman was also named the 2024 LSC Setter of the Year after averaging a conference-best 11.56 assists per set. She has also recorded nine assists-digs double-doubles, posted five matches with 50-plus assists, and led all players with four LSC Setter of the Week honors during the regular season. With Ortman directing the offense, the Rambelles have posted a 25-2 overall record, finished second in the LSC at 15-1, earned a No. 10 national ranking, and are the No. 2 seed for the LSC Tournament that begins Friday, Nov. 22, in Canyon. ASU Rambelles Earn Volleyball All-Conference Honors

Six student-athletes on the Angelo State University Rambelles volleyball team earned a total of 12 Lone Star Conference postseason awards after leading the team to a 25-2 overall record, a 15-1 mark and runner-up spot in the LSC, and a No. 10 national ranking. Headlining the ASU awards are graduate student setter Adeline Ortman of Rhome being named LSC Setter of the Year and senior defensive specialist Caleigh Enax of Haslet being named LSC Libero of the Year. Both were also named to the All-LSC first team, along with teammates Madi Parrish of Saginaw, a sophomore outside hitter, and Evelyn Torres of Fort Worth, a graduate student outside hitter. ASU freshman middle blockers Demi Carter of Bridge City and Sydney Thornton Prosper both earned All-LSC honorable mention and were named to the LSC All-Freshman Team. The Belles are the No. 2 seed in the LSC Tournament and will open play on Friday, Nov. 22, against No. 7 seed Oklahoma Christian in Canyon. ASU Rambelles Soccer Players Earn Academic All-District Honors

Four student-athletes on the Angelo State University Rambelles soccer team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2024 Academic All-District Team for their performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 grade point average (GPA). Graduate student defender Neleh Coleman of Oceanside, Calif., is a curriculum and instruction major. She was named to the All-Lone Star Conference second team as part of the Belles' back line that has allowed only nine goals this season. Graduate student midfielder Katelin Heise of Lubbock is studying coaching, sport, recreation and fitness administration. A team co-captain, she was named to the All-LSC first team after posting two goals and three assists while anchoring the center of the field for the Belles. Graduate student midfielder Madison Maxey of Cedar Park is studying health science professions. Also a team co-captain, she posted two goals and three assists this season and was named to the All-LSC Tournament Team. Junior defender Harper Saxon of Bluff Dale is an exercise science major. She was named to the All-LSC first team after playing a key role in the Belles' defense that has posted 13 clean sheets this season. The Belles will host a NCAA D-II South Central Regional this weekend as the No. 2 seed after winning both the LSC regular-season and LSC Tournament titles. See more details at angelosports.com.
