Angelo State University's Eta Theta chapter of the Delta Sigma Pi national professional business fraternity received the 2017-18 Most Improved Collegiate Chapter Award at the recent 2018 Delta Sigma Pi LEAD School professional development conference in Dallas. Thirty-three ASU student chapter members attended the LEAD (Leadership and Excellence Academy for Deltasigs) School and accepted their chapter's first national award since 1985.

Rambelle Rugby posts first win of the season On Sept. 15, Angelo State's club sports team Rambelle Rugby posted their first win of the season against Texas Tech Women's Rugby. According to the student newspaper, the Ram Page, for the first time ever the Rambelles were competing in the 15s division which is "the largest and most recognized division in rugby." The Ram Page quoted freshman and first year player Drew Bratton, "Our first game felt incredible to be a part of, such a great team filled with great people and it meant a lot to me because that win was the start of my rugby experience." The club president is Amanda Steffins. The club's purpose is to unite women of many diversities to play rugby. To offer and promote leadership and camaraderie to women interested in rugby and to uphold the laws of the International Rugby Board. To engage female students of Angelo State University in campus organizations. To inspire persistence, dedication, and responsibility in not only Rambelle Rugby, but in academics while attending Angelo State University. To encourage tradition and enhance the support of rugby in the San Angelo Community.

Marissa Berry of Fate and Kira Miller of Frisco, both members of the Angelo State University Rambelles soccer team, earned Lone Star Conference honors for their performances over the weekend of Oct. 5-7. Angelo State's Kami Norton has been named to the Top 30 Honorees for NCAA 2018 Woman of the Year. The Woman of the Year award has been given out by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics for 28 years and celebrates the accomplishments of female college athletes across all NCAA divisions. The goal of the program is to honor the athletics excellence, academic achievement and leadership of outstanding female college athletes. Norton won NCAA Division II national titles in both the pentathlon and heptathlon during the 2018 track and field season. The senior helped ASU to its highest finish at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships since 2010 with a third-place finish as well as the program's first LSC outdoor title since 2015.
