Two teams representing Angelo State University's Bass Anglers Club have qualified to compete at the 2020 Yeti FLW College Fishing National Championship next summer at a location to be announced. Decio Andrade of Camacha, Portugal, a freshman hammer thrower on the Angelo State University Rams track and field team, has been named NCAA Division II Men's National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Decio Andrade of Camacha, Portugal, a freshman on the Angelo State University men's track and field team, set new ASU and Lone Star Conference records in the hammer throw at the Wes Kittley Invitational Meet on March 16 in Abilene. Andrade's hammer throw of 226 feet, 5 inches broke the previous ASU record of 213-9 set by Lennart Bodell in 1984 - and the previous LSC record of 218-0 set by Baptiste Kerjean of Abilene Christian University in 2013.
